The Darklands - Book Cover
When the French writer and poet, Andre Breton observed odd sculptures for the first time from Melanesia he wrote, “You frighten. You amaze.” The five Melanesian islands of Fiji, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu were places that were not supposed to be discovered. Explorers feared them. Missionaries were murdered on them. Colonists struggled to govern them. Today, the indigenous people on these culturally rich islands desperately want to hold onto their traditional practices that often clash with Western ways of thinking and values. The Darklands acutely examines the mysterious and unique cultural practices especially those that frighten and those that amaze.

Lethal Transaction
Jacob Knox is in up to his head. The Austin police want him for a murder he didn't commit. And if that wasn't bad enough, the murdered girl is an online celebrity.
Weaving his way in and out of the police's dragnet, Knox must find a way to catch the real killer. But it won't be easy.
These are highly sophisticated cybercriminals who know how to cover their tracks. Good thing Knox is a skilled operative himself.
Following Knox's tail is Detective Harris, an old hand from the APD who is feeling the world slipping away from him. Within the myriad twists and turns of criminals hiding in the cracks of crypto culture, he must rely on good old intuition if he wants to catch the killer.
But why did the girl have to die? And is there something much bigger behind all of this?
This cyberthriller brings the art of murder into a new era where crime, code, money, and blood all run down the same gutter.
